A historic multi-apartment residential building on A. Čaka Street in Riga has been fully renovated. The building was designed in 1930 by architect E. Jakabsons and is distinguished by its ornate masonry architecture and significant cultural-historical and architectural value. During the renovation, particular attention was paid to preserving the building’s historic character while meeting modern standards of comfort and energy efficiency. The fully renovated building features 16 apartments, as well as spacious storage facilities in the basement.
As part of the project, SIA ThermoWhite Baltic provided floor thermal insulation covering an area of 1,414.4 m². The ThermoWhite system enables the creation of a uniform and continuous insulation layer, making it particularly suitable for renovation projects where high-quality insulation must be combined with the specific characteristics of existing structures and engineering utilities.
In this project, the ThermoWhite solution helps improve the building’s thermal performance while allowing the insulation layer to be efficiently adapted to the existing floor structure and available space.
This project demonstrates how a modern ThermoWhite insulation solution can be successfully integrated into the renovation of a historic residential building, combining the preservation of architectural heritage with modern requirements for energy efficiency and comfort.
